Classes & Teaching Styles
Yoga Sol offers a diverse class schedule that includes yin, vinyasa, Iyengar, kripalu, hatha, and gentle yoga. Drop-ins are welcome for most classes without pre-registration, though special workshops may require advance booking. Each instructor brings a unique perspective: Megan has taught yin yoga in Columbia since 2012, guiding slow, floor-based practices that encourage mindfulness and serve as a bridge to meditation. Pam is Iyengar certified and focuses on precise alignment, making her classes suitable for mature students or those healing from injuries. Lynn combines Kripalu yoga with mindfulness, emphasizing the eight-limbed path and how yoga can transform daily life. Leslie fuses her background in education, psychology, and philosophy to create a safe, welcoming space where participants can feel more embodied and connected.
In addition to group classes, the studio offers personalized sessions. Liz Klug provides one-on-one instruction in meditation, breathwork, mantra, and posture, tailored to beginners, students with special needs, or professionals recovering from burnout. These private sessions are available by contacting Liz directly.
Teacher Training & Special Offerings
Yoga Sol hosts a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program, with the next cohort beginning January 15, 2026. This six-month program, led by Liz Klug, integrates yoga philosophy, asana, breathwork, and meditation into daily life. Applicants must have at least one year of regular practice and attend a class with Liz before applying. The training includes weekly in-person and online sessions, plus monthly weekend intensives, and focuses on teaching alignment-based hatha, breath-centered vinyasa, yin/restorative yoga, breathwork, and meditation. A deposit is required by November 15, 2025.
Beyond teacher training, the studio hosts special events such as mantra sessions, sound healing, and dance events, which have been praised by the community. Rachel English also offers Somatic Integration (Rolfing and Somatic Experiencing) at the studio, providing additional bodywork and trauma-healing services. With its blend of regular classes, personalized attention, and deeper study opportunities, Yoga Sol serves as a hub for both newcomers and dedicated practitioners in Columbia.
